Landscape photography has been part of my life for many years. I’m drawn to quiet places, changing weather and the relationship between land, sea and light, from the Essex coast to the mountains and winter landscapes of northern Europe.
My photography ranges from digital capture to medium and large-format film, but the approach remains much the same: slow down, explore the landscape and wait for the elements to come together. I’m particularly drawn to simplicity, atmosphere and images that convey a sense of place rather than simply record it.

The Landscape, Slowed Down
I’ve always been drawn to photography that asks you to stop and look. Long exposures, quiet water, mist, winter light and simple compositions allow the landscape to become something more than a record of a place.
Whether I’m working digitally, with medium format or a 4×5 camera, slowing the process down changes the way I see. It becomes less about taking photographs and more about waiting, observing and deciding what really needs to be in the frame.
Sometimes the simplest landscapes say the most.
